About Us
Newcastle Contemporary Dance Academy (NCDA) was established in 1987 and has been operating for over 35 years in the Newcastle and Hunter areas. We currently have 3 convenient locations, Wallsend, Waratah and Thornton.
Classes on offer include:
We have an Annual Showcase each year and hold only ONE major rehearsal. Costumes are hired at a VERY reasonable $20.00 each, which means there is NO SEWING. Check out our gallery to see some of our costumes.All concert and group photography is FREE and there is NO FUND-RAISING. All students who participate in our Annual Showcase receive a beautiful medallion of recognition.
Our academy also offers one full paid scholarship each year, this is awarded at our Annual Showcase.

- Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop (JFH)
- Hip-Hop
- Cheerleading

- Pre-School Ballet (Little Stars)
- School Dance Programs at Maryland, Waratah and Glendore Public Schools
- Hunter Region Dance Festival and Star Struck groups.
